KPMG has announced a strategic partnership with Anthropic, focusing on integrating Anthropic's Claude AI model into its global client delivery platform, the Digital Gateway. This collaboration aims to enhance KPMG's service offerings, particularly in the tax and legal sectors, by embedding AI capabilities directly into workflows.

Integrating Claude into KPMG's Digital Gateway signifies a shift from traditional methods. Previously, creating AI agents for specific tasks, such as adapting to changes in tax regulations, could take weeks. Rema Serafi, vice chair of tax for KPMG U.S., noted that the new system will enable such capabilities to be developed in minutes, transforming workflows and significantly increasing efficiency.
Embedding AI into Daily Operations
Anthropic's Claude will give all 270,000 KPMG professionals access to its extensive suite of AI capabilities, which have already been adopted in various sectors within the firm. A spokesperson from KPMG emphasized that the focus of this partnership is not just providing access to Claude as a standalone tool but embedding it within daily operations. This includes integration into platforms like aIQ Chat for employee use and client delivery through the Digital Gateway, making AI a natural part of everyday tasks.
The partnership will also involve KPMG and Anthropic collaborating on the development of AI-driven product offerings tailored to specific client challenges. One example is KPMG Blaze, designed to assist private equity clients in transitioning legacy systems to cloud-native solutions, thereby automating the software development lifecycle.
A Preferred Consultant Role for Private Equity
KPMG's role goes beyond simple integration; it will act as Anthropic's preferred consultant for private equity clients, helping deploy AI capabilities tailored to this sector. The firm is already investing in training and developing expertise in Anthropic's technologies, ensuring its professionals are well-equipped to utilize AI to meet client needs.
Daniela Amodei, co-founder and president of Anthropic, praised KPMG's commitment to accuracy and accountability, stating, "KPMG works in industries where accuracy, accountability, and trust aren't optional, and they're applying the same standard to AI. They're rolling Claude out to 276,000 people across the business and using it for client work in tax and private equity."
Building on Previous Alliances
This alliance is part of KPMG's broader strategy to integrate advanced AI solutions into its offerings, building on previous partnerships with major AI providers. Last year, the firm established a collaboration with Google Cloud, aiming to enhance decision-making through integrated AI platforms. KPMG now becomes the first Big Four firm to directly embed Claude into its primary client delivery system.
