Hark has raised $700 million in a Series A funding round, positioning itself to create a universal AI personal assistant that could redefine consumer interaction with technology. This influx of capital, valuing the company at $6 billion post-money, signals strong investor confidence in Hark's vision for AI.

The funding round was led by Parkway Venture Capital, with participation from notable firms including AMD Ventures, Intel Capital, and Salesforce Ventures. This diverse group of investors reflects a growing interest in companies innovating within the AI sector, particularly in consumer-facing applications.

Founded in late 2025 by Brett Adcock, who previously launched Figure.AI and Archer, Hark aims to develop an agentic AI system. Despite the substantial investment, the company has not disclosed specifics about its products. However, Hark plans to release its first multimodal models this summer, laying the groundwork for a personal AI platform that will integrate with existing services and products.

Abidur Chowdhury, Hark’s director of design and a former Apple executive, expressed optimism about the project. He pointed out that current AI tools primarily serve developers and software engineers, often overlooking the everyday needs of average users. “I haven’t seen anything that feels like something that will really help like the normal person,” Chowdhury stated. This highlights a gap in the market that Hark intends to address.

The company plans to use its new capital to recruit skilled talent across hardware, product design, and AI research, as well as to enhance its computing capabilities. Currently, Hark employs 70 people and operates a data center equipped with Nvidia B200 GPUs, indicating a solid foundation for AI model training and development.

Challenges remain, particularly in providing personalized AI assistance without compromising user privacy or causing discomfort for those nearby. Chowdhury acknowledged this concern but did not elaborate on potential solutions, leaving many questions unanswered. As the industry faces privacy issues, Hark's approach to developing hardware and interfaces will be closely monitored.

As the AI sector evolves, Hark's mission to create a user-friendly AI experience distinguishes it from competitors like OpenAI and Anthropic, which focus primarily on coding tools. Hark's success may depend on its ability to bridge advanced AI capabilities with practical, user-centric applications. With substantial financial backing and a team of experienced professionals, Hark will create something unique in the AI market. Investors and consumers alike will be watching closely as the company prepares to unveil its first products later this year.
