Calum Fyfe enters the Danish Golf Challenge this week with a solid record, sitting ninth in the Road to Mallorca Rankings. Last year, he held a three-shot lead going into the final round but ultimately finished just behind winner Jonathan Gøth-Rasmussen. His confidence is bolstered by two top-five finishes already this season.
Fyfe's recent performances stand out. He tied for fourth place in Italy with an impressive score of 18 under par and finished 14th in Spain at 16 under. Reflecting on his recent form, Fyfe expressed optimism: "The last few weeks have been really good. Anytime I feel like I've played well I've been in contention which is a good sign."
The Scottish golfer has fond memories of Denmark, noting that the weather and grass conditions resemble those in Scotland, which enhances his comfort during competition. "It’s a feel-good type of place. I feel like I can play well and hopefully I can do the same as last year," Fyfe said. His determination to secure a victory is evident as he prepares to tee off, adding, "Hopefully I can keep playing well and find myself in that position more often and I’m sure it will come soon."
This tournament carries additional emotional weight for Fyfe. The 2025 Danish Golf Challenge was the first event he played after the passing of his mother, a moment that lingers with him. "Those feelings are always there. But I just feel like I’ve got someone looking down on me who’s helping me a little bit. Hopefully she can kick the ball in the hole for me," he remarked.
As the opening round approaches, Fyfe is set to tee off at 1:15 PM local time alongside American Jhared Hack and Denmark's Hamish Brown. With a strong start to the season and a deep personal connection to the event, Fyfe aims to transform past experiences into a successful outcome this year.
